Curtis was like a big brother to me. I have known him all my life, he will be greatly missed. Love U big brother, until we meet again on the beautiful shores. RIP. Condolences to his Wife and kids.

On the 14th January we lost a very special man who was an important male figure in my life growing up. He was there for many key moments in my life, whether it was coming car shopping with me to buy my first car...or teaching me to ride my bike (in a park with only one stabiliser attached!!) I'm absolutely devastated that he is gone, but feel so lucky to have been able to have my Grandad around for as long as I did and the memories that we were able to create. It's funny how it's the 'small things' that end up being your key remaining memories of someone. My Grandad was the kind of man who took great pleasure in taking on the role of 'teacher'. Whether it was teaching me about the various unusual varieties of vegetables in his allotment, how to cook his famous fish cakes or taking me for a walk around his land in Grenada and telling me all about the plants and insects (including the giant 'probably poisonous' spider that had been working its way up the washing line the entire week 😳) - imparting his knowledge was definitely something he loved. I feel forever grateful that I was able to see you take on this role with my own boys. With them taking your hand as you stroll round the garden, teaching them all about the fruit trees. My heart burst watching their inquisitive brains explode like fireworks as you inspired their young minds. Even at the very end, I could see your eyes light up as you were able to watch the boys playing together in the living room. I will think of you whenever I see a car boot sale, sit in a Lidl car park, eat a mango or spot a 'probably poisonous' insect. I'll be sure to have 'one for the road' in your memory on Thursday. Rest in peace Grandad.
